Question: What is the recommended email client?
Answer: If you choose not to use webmail, we recommend the use of Mozilla Thunderbird.
Question: What is IMAP?
Answer: The Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) is a protocol used to access email from your local computer. Messages are received and held on the server for retrieval by your email client. Unlike POP3, IMAP retains messages on the server and also allows you to create and manipulate folders to store your email. This is the recommened protocol for use with NetRadius hosted email.
Question: What is POP3?
Answer: The Post Office Protocol 3 (POP3) is a protocol used to access email from your local computer. Messages are received and held on the server until your mail client retrieves them. Unlike IMAP, all messages are downloaded when your email client connects and are no longer maintained on the server.
Question: What is TLS and SSL?
Answer: TLS stands for Transport Level Security and SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer. Both are crtyptographic protocols used to provide security and data integrity for network communications.
